The Smart Shopper...

More blessings have come recently amidst all our struggling. Chelsea was able to have a good time with Ashleigh, one of our friends from church, as they went on their hunt for good sales (lol). I was told that they would be on base to do their grocery shopping. I was working as always and I wasn't anticipating that I was going to be there ALL day but what can you do? Determined that we were going to make the most of this day, I gave most of my last weeks' earnings (hard labor at the computer lab. lol) to Chels for shopping. I wasn't worried at all because I know my wife is O'SUM when it comes to handling money (budgeting for those who didn't catch that).
Long story short, I got home to find my wife bouncing around with happiness and excitement as she proceeded to show me the many items she had purchased. I was relieved to know that we didn't use all the money I gave her. That was why she was so excited. She listed all the items and started doing price comparisons as all of the stuff we got was SO CHEAP! We were in Heaven (it might seem lame to those who HAVE money but we appreciate EVERYTHING fancy we get :P) and we just were so grateful that we had the opportunity to be blessed this way.
Happiness is the reason why we are on Earth. What better way to enjoy that then with the one you love? I know I do. Til next year when we will do our month's worth of shopping again, later.

Remembering the "DAY"...

It's been just over 2 months since and we are living now in Hawaii. It's back to school and all that chaos. I thought I'd share some moments that will last me beyond the grave (let's hope that it's not any time soon :P).

I loved our wedding. I was married to Chelsea Johnson, from Blackfoot in Idaho. We met here in Hawaii while working together for the Polynesian Cultural Center. We had been dating about 2 years and she treats me so good. She is an amazing woman and her family is the best. I met them for the first time when I surprised my wife-to-be at her home on September 1st of this year. This was the day I proposed to my wife. I didn't even ask her father if I could marry her (seeing as that is the way you're supposed to do things, but I didn't know. lol) It was a wonderful experience as she was caught off guard and we were just on cloud 9 the whole day.
Preparations for the wedding were smooth and we were married a week later. The wedding was amazing to say the least. My family flew in from Australia and I was not expecting them to be there as it was so expensive. All the families came together on our special day and there was just so much love and happiness that there was no stress whatsoever. NO STRESS! AMAAAAAZING! lol.

We were also blessed to have such an awesome photographer, Dustin Izatt, who made us look stunning in our photos. He has great talent and you can see these photos HERE and we recommend him to anybody who wants some professional photos done that will leave lasting impressions for the rest of your life!

The reception took place the next day at Chelsea's house in Idaho and it was incredible. We never expected so much to come out of our lil wedding. We didn't have much to work with and yet, I wouldn't change anything about our special day! It was indeed PERFECT! I look back and wonder how it all happened so smoothly. I thank God for his hand in that because if we didn't trust in him, we would not have had that grand opportunity to enjoy our SPECIAL DAY!

Here's to more blessed days like that one... :)
